Dr Phibes and Hellraiser Judgment

News Features:

1. A new Ghostbusters movie for 2020 is a sure thing, details are still pending. Set in the same universe as the first two, ignoring the reboot (Much to the displeasure of Leslie Jones who starred in the reboot). Ivan Reitman who directed the original will be producer, and his son Jason will be writer/director. https://www.wired.com/story/new-ghostbusters-movie-2020/

2. MPI Media Group, who holds Dark Shadows (The horror-tinged soap opera that ran for over 1,000 episodes from the mid 60s to early 70s), has just wrapped up a documentary this week that is due to be released this spring. Is directed by David Gregory and narrated by Ian McShane (Deadwood, American Gods) History and interviews with creator Dan Curtis and many of the actors and crew involved. https://www.horrorsociety.com/2019/01/19/mpi-media-group-wraps-production-on-highly-anticpated-documentary-master-of-dark-shadows/

3. Shudder Greenlights ‘Creepshow’ Series Helmed By ‘The Walking Dead’s Greg Nicotero - Yes, Creepshow is going to be an anthology series with a different Stephen King story and different director each episode. Filming is to start in Atlanta, and it’s planned to be released later this year from AMC. First episode is said to be “Survivor Type” - a not-very-nice guy who gets stranded on a deserted island and takes extreme measures to survive. https://deadline.com/2018/07/shudder-creepshow-tv-series-the-walking-dead-greg-nicotero-1202428605/

4. Mads Mikkelsen teases us with hope that Hannibal Season 4 might be a reality. At least there’s hope of it. Hannibal took viewers up through the Red Dragon storyline, and it left fans wanting even more. Mads says he certainly wants it to continue, and he doesn’t know any details but hears that talks are still ongoing to continue either with NBC or a new home. https://bloody-disgusting.com/tv/3541499/mads-mikkelsen-offers-new-hope-hannibal-season-4-exclusive/

5. Imagine a world where Halloween isn’t on October 31st - at least not every year. If the 57,000 plus people who signed the petition on Change.org have their way, Halloween would be changed to a floating holiday on the last Saturday of October. Citing safety issues with after-dark trick-or-treating and the idea that Halloween should be celebrated a whole weekend day instead of a few rushed weekday-hours. If you want to join the movement, you can put forth your name too https://www.change.org/p/president-of-the-united-states-join-the-saturday-halloween-movement?recruiter=893165808
